Earlier this year, an attractive statuesque woman walked in the door of UpHome with a broad smile as owner Linda Ritter greeted her. Eileen Dolente, a resident of Media, headed directly to the Pine Cone Hill corner and promptly chose two bath mats. “I always make a point to come to UpHome when I do Malvern trips,” she says. “I love the French flavor and quality of the store. It’s ἀlled with numerous hard-to-ἀnd items. I used to produce the Epicurious cooking TV show, and I recognize Linda’s products from Provence. I have other Pine Cone Hill linens as well as two dining room chairs and a mirror. I’m sure I will to add to my Up-Home collection.”
Laughing, Linda insists she didn’t plan Eileen’s appearance for the magazine inter-view. The customer’s positive critique, how-ever, is one of many from happy people who appreciate Linda’s exquisite eye for unusual home furnishings and uncommon gifts. Sev-eral times a year she and her husband Bryce wander in and out of small French shops, open air markets, and artists’ studios search-ing for treasures to bring the essence of the Provence region to UpHome. A select group of American artisans complete a beautiful picture of retail perfection.
