22 Chester County Life CHESTERCOUNTY-LIFE.COM H O M E G A R D E N convinced. My drawings indicated a huge shower and Chuck pointed out possible proportion problems. He had a wealth of ideas we hadnt considered such as heated floors and a circulation pump. Jean chuck- les thinking back. Jim said we didnt need heated floors. Guess who loves them now And of course today Im all for the toilet relocation. The Ferraro and Mattioni team synthe- sized thoughts until everyone was happy. Today happiness barely touches the surface of joy the couple expresses when describing their beautiful new bathrooms. Jim is par- ticularly gleeful when the water bill arrives. With the energy efficient features Mat- tioni installed our water bill is cut in half The reason is a thermal valve control. We have instant hot water programmed to our warmth partiality. You no longer have to stand outside the shower or at the sink wait- ing for temperatures to adjust. The master bath is not only a model of efficiency it glows in handsome harmony. Soft beehive yellow walls complement natu- ral light that presently pours into the room. Among a host of highlights are a Bertch Hudson Birch Sable vanity base with match- ing wall cabinet and crown molding. The vanity top is Corian the double sinks bisque. There is a five-function brushed nickel showerhead flexible arm and multi- use handheld sprayer. A sleek vertical cabinet is strategically situated above the TOTO Sedona beige comfort-height slow- close seat toilet. Botticino marble graces the threshold and variously placed sills. A com- fy seat and Mediterranean Spanish rust tiles enhance the shower area. The hall bath too is a well-designed ar- chitectural show piece. A vanity finished in caf walnut and cinnamon toast Tere-Stone sets off biscuit-hued sink bowls. The tub shower area is attractively enclosed with a mood-soothing hinged clear panel door. Its a wonderfully original look perfected by contemporary personality and space ef- ficacy. Chuck and Patty visited throughout the project to check and double-check progress and accuracy. Telephone communication was recurrent to further ensure quality con- trol. The Mattioni construction crews re- spect for the Ferraros home was a constant source of commendation. All floors steps and rails were covered with cushioned pa- pers and a china cabinet in the dining room below took on a cardboard robe.
