CHESTERCOUNTY-LIFE.COM MarchApril 2016 95 This past summer I took pleasure in the opportunity to share in the festive ground- breaking ceremonies of Applecross Country Clubs impressive new clubhouse facilities. Since the clubs opening a few years ago a large and convenient temporary clubhouse has served the dining and entertainment needs of Members. The new Applecross Clubhouse facilities mark a major mile- stone the finishing crowning touch on an already exceptional venue of club facili- ties and amenities. To name a few Apple- cross boasts the only Nicklaus Design golf course in the Philadelphia area an outdoor resort-style swimming pool a year-round indoor pool tennis courts a 10000-square- foot fitness center and much more. GROUNDBREAKING As Members and guests arrived at the groundbreaking event they perused an in- spiring and informative display of the latest architectural renderings of the new club- house facilities where Membership Direc- tor Gregg Russell pointed out clubhouse de- sign features and responded with enormous pride to the questions of the enthusiastic gathering that was ready for a fun entertain- ing evening. From the display area Members and guests moved on to the beauty and se- renity of the 19th fairway to enjoy a celebra- tion venue featuring fabulous food stations beverages entertainment and groundbreak- ing ceremonies. The band set up overlook- ing the green. And adding to the evenings excitement a bulldozer which would soon start the much-anticipated excavation was in full view poised on the nearby ridge over- looking the festive gathering. General Manager Justin Meyers ad- dressed Members and guests proudly re- ferring to Applecross as Chester Countys most progressive and innovative country club. And further remarking Our new clubhouse is a perfect symbol of the in- novative and progressive development of Applecross. Justin enjoyed very much introducing a number of children who en- thusiastically took turns in breaking some ground with a shiny ceremonial ground- breaking spade a fitting and symbolic cer- emony attesting to the clubs commitment to a family-friendly inclusive club where its a fun environment for all to enjoy. Signature 9th hole Applecross boasts the only Nicklaus Design golf course in the Philadelphia area. The new Applecross Clubhouse facilities mark a major milestone the finishing crowning touch on an already exceptional venue of club facilities and amenities. Shown is a rendering of the new Clubhouse facing a panoramic up-close view of the 18th and 19th holes.
